Dalkia Facilities Ltd has strengthened its work at height arrangements at Torness Nuclear Power Station and across the entire EDF nuclear fleet following an improvement notice issued by the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).
The health and safety incident occurred in May 2026 when an electrician employed by Dalkia Facilities Ltd - a technical facilities management and energy services provider - sustained serious leg injuries after falling from portable steps while replacing a light fitting.
Dalkia Facilities Ltd has now swiftly complied with the enforcement action within two months by positively demonstrating to ONR that it has appropriate arrangements to ensure that work at height is properly planned and supervised to protect the safety of its workers.
ONR issued the notice to Dalkia Facilities Ltd under the Work at Height Regulations 2005: Regulation 4(1).
