The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) has launched a public consultation for a scoping report assessing the environmental impact for the decommissioning of Dungeness B Nuclear Power Station.
The report sets out EDF’s intended scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the decommissioning of the Kent nuclear power station, submitted under the Nuclear Reactors (Environmental Impact Assessment for Decommissioning) Regulations (EIADR).
The report describes how EDF plans to assess the environmental impacts of the decommissioning work, forming part of the pre-application process under the EIADR.
ONR is inviting comments from stakeholders and the public on the scoping report.
The responses will help shape ONR's feedback to EDF before it submits a formal EIADR application, which is expected in mid-2027.
