Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
The purpose of this inspection was to assess the adequacy of AWE’s Intelligent Customer (IC) arrangements and their implementation to support its supply chain delivery at the FBU(P) facility.
These arrangements were compared against regulatory expectations provided in:
- NS-TAST-GD-077 – Supply chain management arrangements for the procurement of nuclear safety related items or services (TAG -77).
- NS-TAST-GD-049 – Licensee Core Safety and Intelligent Customer Capabilities (TAG-49).
This was a targeted inspection focused on AWE’s:
- Development and application of its IC arrangements to its supply chain delivery for items and services, for nuclear safety related activity for the Enhanced Project Period – FBU(P) – Refurbishment of the ventilation system.
As part of its evidence based approach and to inform its regulatory judgement, I discussed current arrangements with relevant design authority, supply chain, quality, independent regulation and project representatives. I also walked down the project site.
I was satisfied that AWE was able to demonstrate that:
- It made and implemented adequate IC arrangements in the sampled areas.
I judged that the inspection rating was Green - No Formal Action.
