Aim of inspection
The purpose of this inspection is for ONR to gain assurance that NWS arrangements associated with the relevant requirements of IRR17 and CDG09 for the transport of radioactive material are appropriate, and that NWS are working to those arrangements.

Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
The inspectors identified a number of examples of the dutyholder meeting relevant good practice in reducing risk to levels that are ALARP, including, suitable IRR17 registration, appropriate radiation risk assessment and radiation protection programme. In addition, the dutyholder had comprehensive procedures and arrangements, covering the relevant aspects of transport, to be compliant with CDG09.
Conclusion
The inspection findings were presented to NWS at the close of the inspection.
We judged an overall inspection rating of green was appropriate for this inspection as we considered relevant good practice was generally met, with only minor observations and advice provided, when compared with appropriate benchmarks.
