Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
This inspection was undertaken as a condition of granting consent to Transrad SA under IRR17 Regulation 7(1)(g) for a practice involving High-Activity Sealed Sources (HASS) (in this case, the transport of HASS). The inspector assessed Transrad SA’s compliance with the requirements to implement this practice. In addition, the inspector sampled a number of Transrad SA’s procedures and arrangements relating to transport of radioactive material to determine compliance with CDG09.
Transrad SA was found to be compliant with the information provided in its consent application, and no non-compliances were identified.
Conclusion
The inspection findings were presented to Transrad SA at the close of the inspection.
As no significant shortfalls were identified in the delivery of transport functions, and relevant legal duties were complied with, I judged that an overall inspection rating of Green was appropriate.
