Correspondence addressed to Nigel Lynn, Chief Executive Officer, West Berkshire Council dated 29 November 2023, ONR reference: 2023/61771, Unique Number: ONR-TD-EPR-23-034, subject: Off-Site Emergency Plan for AWE Nuclear Licensed Sites references exercises associated with the ALDEX-23 programme whilst highlighting outstanding actions from previous tests and exercises, including modular tests which concluded in 2022 as part of ALDEX-19. In summary the correspondence highlights the pressures placed upon the OSEP (Off-site Emergency Plan) as a consequence of the IAEA's issued guidance to countries, including the United Kingdom, following the Great East Japan (Tohoku) Earthquake during March 2011.
