- Date released: 29 July 2026
- Request number: FOI202607023
- Release of information under: FOIA
Information requested
Please will you send me the whole UK-level submissions your organisation has made to the IAEA Incident and Trafficking Database by year from 2015 to the present day?
By whole UK-level, I mean that I'm asking for the data to be anonymised in terms of specific locations and names of reporting organisations.
Our response
We confirm that under s.1 of the FOIA, we do not hold the information you have requested.
However, we have liaised with colleagues across relevant ONR purposes (Transport, Security and Safeguards) and with those holding current and past international OPEX roles who have confirmed that ONR does not report UK incidents to the IAEA Incident and Trafficking Database (ITD). We also carried out a search of ONR records on our information management systems using a range of appropriate key words and there is no evidence that ONR has reported UK incidents to the IAEA ITD in the past.
Further information
I can confirm that the Home Office is the UK point of contact with IAEA on this topic and they disseminate information collated by IAEA in relation to Incident and Trafficking to UK interested parties, of which ONR is one. ONR colleagues have confirmed that we have received information periodically in recent years, supported by records held on our systems. The Home Office has confirmed that this information is restricted so not for onward transmission though you may wish to contact them directly.
