Information requested

I am writing to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:

  1. When the organisation last ran a procurement or tender process for language services, including (but not limited to) translation, interpretation, or transcription services.
  2. The evaluation weighting used in that tender, specifically the percentage weighting allocated to quality and the percentage weighting allocated to price (e.g., 70% quality / 30% price).
  3. The quality and price scores awarded to each bidder in that tender, including:
  • The name of each bidder
  • The quality score for each bidder.
  • The price score for each bidder.
  • The total score for each bidder

If any part of the information is exempt, please provide the non exempt portions and cite the specific exemption(s) being relied upon.

I would prefer to receive the information in electronic format (e.g., PDF, Word, or Excel).

Our response

We confirm that under s.1 of the FOIA, we do not hold the information you have requested.

This is because ONR utilises the Request for Quote (RFQ) / Direct Award option via the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Frameworks Agreement RM6302, Language Services, Lot 1.

We have not tendered for any specific contract outside of this provision of our own.

We have called for and accepted 8 separate RFQ quotes with the CCS approved supplier, “THEBIGWORD” since the new Call-Off contract was agreed with CCS in October 2025. The values per RFQ accepted have been between £80 - £130 per task.

Please note that the CCS became the Government Commercial Agency on 1 April 2026.
