  • Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made

The inspector identified through questioning and sampling their business management system that this dutyholder is a packer, loader, consignor, and consignee of class 7 dangerous goods. Those goods are components parts of the instruments they manufacture for the detection of narcotics/explosives. They use a third party carrier to transport their instruments. The activities of Smiths Detection comply with the duties created by CDG'09, subject to the activities of their carrier. Further enquiry will be made of the third party carrier.

Conclusion

I judge an overall inspection rating of 'Green - no formal action' was appropriate for this inspection. Unless there are circumstances which change the activity this company carries out, or an incident, I see no need to inspect them for another five years.
