Information requested
I understand there have been substantive reports in the French and UK press of a potential generic fault in the design of the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) EPR nuclear reactor.

Given an RPV is key to the safe functioning of any nuclear station, I request any and all information that you may hold concerning the possibility of any potential design flaw in the RPV for the EPR reactor, including whether this problem has or may impact the EPR under construction at Hinkley Point C, and the EPR planned for Sizewell C.
Information released
We confirm that under Section 1 of the FOIA, we do not hold the information relevant to your request.

Regarding the reactor pressure vessel (RPV), which is made up of two main components (the reactor vessel body and the vessel closure head), ONR holds no information relating to a design flaw of the RPV as referred to in the recent press articles regarding Taishan or indeed any information that suggests this claimed design flaw has or may impact either Hinkley Point C or Sizewell C.
