Matthew Rees

Matthew was appointed on 1 October 2025 on a five-year term.

Matthew is a finance professional and has extensive experience in leading corporate finance transactions, public financial management audits and economic regulation.

During his career he has held senior positions in a number of high-profile financial institutions, regulatory and professional bodies as well as the National Audit Office.

Matthew is an experienced Executive and Non-Executive Director across the public and private sectors. Mathhew is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Chartered Public Finance Accountant with extensive audit, assurance, governance and corporate finance experience.

He is currently a Partner in a Financial Conduct Authority Regulated Investment Bank where he is responsible for the origination and delivery of mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions for growth companies.
