Aim of inspection
The purpose of the inspection was to review compliance of the dutyholder’s arrangements for class 7 radioactive material for road transport, covering consignor and carrier duties.

Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
The inspector reviewed a range of topics and identified a number of examples of the duty holder meeting relevant good practice in reducing risk to levels that are ALARP, including Local Rules, Training, Security and IRR17 Contingency plans. The dutyholder also had a range of procedures and documentation relating to the application of the requirements of CDG09
The inspector inspected one vehicle.
The inspector identified three areas of non-compliance and discussed these during the inspection. These was associated with the dutyholder's Management arrangements, Radiation Risk Assessments and Emergency Plans.
Conclusion
The inspection findings were presented to the dutyholder at the close of the inspection.
I judged an overall inspection rating of 'Amber – Seek Improvement’ was appropriate for this inspection.
The dutyholder is required to provide ONR either with evidence that the identified non-compliances have been resolved, or an appropriate resolution plan with timescales for completion, by 11th August 2025. The non-compliances will be tracked to completion via a level four regulatory issue”.
