Please provide information covering the last three years (36 months), relating to the Security specialism holistically, including Protective, Cyber, Personnel, and other Security functions, including Inspectors and administrative staff. Where possible, provide data broken down by Band level, ethnicity, gender, and disability status.

1. Recruitment, Staffing, and Internal Governance

  1. Number of Security roles advertised (Band 1-6, including Director level).
  2. Number of roles filled and, where not filled, the number of re-advertisements, interviews conducted, and reasons for non-fulfilment including the cost’s associated with non-fulfilment. 
  3. Internal and external recruitment costs, including staff time and advertising/recruitment agency spend.
  4. Composition of interview panels, including ethnicity, gender, and disability.
  5. Copies of any internal audits, reports, or reviews into recruitment, diversity, or inclusion practices within Security. 

2. Workforce Composition, Diversity, and Equality

  1. Workforce breakdown in Security by Band level, including ethnicity, gender, age group, and disability status.
  2. Internal monitoring, reports, or initiatives on diversity, inclusion, or equal opportunity.
  3. Internal or external complaints, grievances, or concerns related to diversity, equality, or discrimination, including outcomes.
  4. Promotion rates and average time to promotion within Security, broken down by ethnicity and gender.
  5. Staff turnover and exit rates within Security, broken down by ethnicity and gender.

3. Disciplinary, Sanctions, and Whistleblowing

  1. Number of disciplinary or sanction procedures in Security, broken down by ethnicity, gender, and disability.
  2. Number of procedures overturned on appeal and the reasons for overturning.
  3. Time and monetary costs associated with overturning of appeals. 
  4. Time and monetary costs associated with disciplinary procedures and appeals.
  5. Statistics on whistleblowing cases or grievances relating to discrimination, bullying, or unfair treatment, including outcomes.
  6. Summary of lessons learned or policy changes resulting from disciplinary, grievance, or whistleblowing outcomes.

4. Legal and Employment Tribunal Matters

  1. Employment tribunal cases involving current or former Security employees, including case outcomes.
  2. Engagement of external solicitors for employment matters, including names of firms used, total time spent using their services, and total costs of their services broken down by year.

5. Accountability, Oversight, and DEI Strategies

  1. Any external reviews, audits, or consultancy work related to Security workforce, culture, recruitment, or diversity.
  2. DEI strategies, internal surveys, or action plans relating to Security staff, including how progress is monitored or reported.
  3. Diversity, leadership, management and training associated with the Equality Act undertaken by Security senior management over the last three years.

It is important to note that some information has been withheld in relation to an individual’s status along with informal concerns, complaints, disciplinary, grievance and whistleblowing cases. Release of this type of information could identify an individual either directly or indirectly. Therefore this has been withheld using the exemption s.40(2) of the FOIA.­

Release of the information would breach principle (a) of GDPR (lawfulness, fairness and transparency) on the grounds that there is no lawful basis to process this data. In addition, releasing this personal data would also breach principle (b) of GDPR (purpose limitation) as the data was provided as part of their work
