Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made

This inspection, one of a series of planned inspections for 2022/23 at the GE Healthcare Ltd Grove Centre licensed nuclear site, was undertaken to judge compliance with licence condition (LC) 32 – Accumulation of radioactive waste. During this inspection ONR assessed the management and storage of radioactive waste at the Grove Centre.  This inspection consisted of a review of GE Healthcare’s licence condition arrangements against the published guidance and an inspection of waste management and storage facilities at the site. Based on the evidence presented during the inspection and from an extensive plant walkdown I am satisfied that the licensee's LC32 arrangements continue to meet the requirements of the published guidance and that these arrangements are being adequately implemented at the site.

Conclusion

In my opinion the licensee's arrangements for LC32 are adequate and from the plant walkdown it was evident that the implementation of the arrangements is also adequate.
