Information released

We confirm that under Section 1 of the FOIA, we hold the information relevant to your request. Please find attached the guidance document you requested.

Some information has been removed as it contains personal data. The personal data has been withheld using the exemption Section 40(2) of the FOIA. In particular, release of the information would breach principle (a) of GDPR (lawfulness, fairness and transparency) on the grounds that there is no lawful basis to process this data. In addition, releasing this personal data would also breach principle (b) of GDPR (purpose limitation) as the data was provided for the purposes of presentation ownership or circulation.

The NS-TAST-GD-082 guidance covered our technical assessments of Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations (REPPIR) submissions made under the previous regulations (REPPIR01) when we were responsible for determining Detailed Emergency Planning Zones (DEPZs) around licensed nuclear sites. Under the latest regulations (REPPIR19) the determination of DEPZs is no longer our responsibility but instead this, and other duties, are placed on the Local Authorities. Therefore, it was on this basis that the NS-TAST-GD-082 guidance was withdrawn.

We can confirm however that we are currently working on new guidance that will replace NS-TAST-GD-082 to reflect the updated requirements of the latest version of the Regulations (REPPIR19).
