Aim of inspection
The purpose of this intervention is to undertake a Licence Condition (LC) 26 compliance inspection at EDF Energy Nuclear Generation’s (NGL’s) Heysham 1 Power Station. This inspection will be undertaken as part of the planned intervention strategy for the Operating Facilities Division (OFD) of the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).

Key findings, inspector’s opinions and reasons for judgement made
ONR conducted an LC26 (control and supervision of operations) compliance inspection at Heysham 1.
The inspection focused the continuity of control and supervision between the day shift and night shift during the reactor 1 periodic shutdown and targeted shift handovers, shift logs and setting to work briefs primarily within the Fuel Route department.
We did not identify any shortfalls requiring regulatory attention.
Conclusion
Based on the evidence sampled during the inspection we judged that Heysham 1 was compliant with the requirements of LC26 (control and supervision of operations) and rated the inspection as Green (no-formal action).
