The Office for Nuclear Regulation, along with the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales, has today launched a new early regulatory engagement framework for interested parties to deploy nuclear reactor technology in Great Britain.
The framework is available to any party requesting early engagement on a proposed reactor deployment in Great Britain, including reactor technology vendors, developers or aspirant licence/permit holders.
Jane Bowie, Director of Regulation, New Nuclear Reactors, said: “Launching the early engagement framework is one of our key commitments in support of the government’s civil nuclear roadmap.
“The new guidance will enable applicants to develop their understanding of regulatory processes and expectations early on in their projects and provides a new way for interested parties to engage with us.”
