Roger was appointed on 1 February 2024 on a five-year term.
Roger is a mechanical engineer and has extensive senior leadership experience in the defence, nuclear and aviation industries. His executive career was at Babcock starting in the naval and civil nuclear programmes and previous roles have included managing both Devonport and Dounreay, two of the UK’s most complex nuclear licensed sites.
As a divisional Chief Executive at Babcock, Roger transferred from Cavendish Nuclear into defence and security and then into aviation, which included leading Europe’s largest aerial emergency services operation with a fleet of over 500 aircraft.
He is currently a Non-Executive Interim Chair of a privately owned aerospace and defence company and is the Non-Executive Chair of a technical textiles manufacturer.
