Key Findings, Inspector's Opinions and Reasons for Judgements Made

On the basis of my inspection I am satisfied with the Licensee's RP arrangements, processes and procedures adequately support the claims, arguments and evidence outlined in the third Periodic Safety Review (PSR3) and radiological protection addendum.

In addition I observed many examples of relevant good practice during the discussions with station staff and during the plant walk-round.  Of particular merit are the Accredited Health Physicist (AccHP) and HoRP efforts to not just maintain but to continuously improve the RP arrangements throughout the plant.

An inspection rating of Green was therefore assigned against License Condition 15 Periodic Review with respect to RP.

Conclusion of Intervention

The RP inspection provided further regulatory confidence in the adequacy of the Licensee’s RP arrangements supporting the PSR3 submitted in line with License Condition 15 Periodic Review.
