This Technical Assessment Guide consists of eight separate but related documents, all of which are accessed from this page.
The head document is supported by four annexes and the annexes covering natural external hazards are themselves supported by Expert Panel papers. The head document and annexes have been authored by ONR's external hazards Specialist Inspectors, they constitute ONR guidance and present ONR's interpretation of the Safety Assessment Principles as they relate to external hazards. These documents constitute relevant good practice.
The supporting Expert Panel papers have been authored by members of ONR's Expert Panel on Natural Hazards, a small group of academic and industry technical specialists working under contract to ONR to provide expert advice. These documents do not present ONR guidance and therefore do not represent relevant good practice, although they provide extensive technical input to the annexes they support.
