Operating facilities

ONR regulates the safety and security of operating nuclear power stations and safety on the nuclear sites that form an integral part to the delivery of the UK’s nuclear deterrent and other maritime defences.

Assurance, Policy & International Directorate

The Regulatory Assurance Programme delivers independent operational oversight across all of ONR's regulatory functions. The aim of the programme is to secure the confidence of stakeholders, including Government and the ONR Board/Executive, in the robustness of ONR's regulatory processes and decision making.
