The purpose of this inspection was to confirm compliance with a number of Licence Conditions at Hinkley Point A, Berkeley and Oldbury sites as part of a series of planned inspections for 2019/20 in support of ONR’s Decommissioning Fuel and Waste sub-division strategy.

Interventions Carried Out by ONR

Explanation of Judgement if Safety System Not Judged to be Adequate

Not applicable.

Key Findings, Inspector's Opinions and Reasons for Judgements Made

At each site we examined the arrangements put in place by Magnox Ltd to establish whether they were compliant and we were able to establish clear linkage from the requirements set out in each of the three licence conditions through to local implementation of the arrangements on the sites.

We undertook plant walk-downs of radiological areas of the site to inspect the implementation of arrangements at the workplace.  We undertook checks of waste records and consignment records at each site and found them to be in order.  No shortfalls were identified.

Conclusion of Intervention

It is my judgement that Magnox Ltd has made and implemented adequate arrangements at each of the three sites for the licence conditions inspected.
