Executive summary

Purpose of Intervention

This inspection was carried out as one of a series of planned inspections for the Hunterston A site during 2018/19.

Interventions Carried Out by ONR

Inspections were undertaken of arrangements made under LC13 (Nuclear Safety Committee), LC17 (Management Systems), LC32 (Accumulation of radioactive waste) and LC36 (Organisational Capability). Other meetings on Action/Issue review and with Site Safety Representatives took place.

Explanation of Judgement if Safety System Not Judged to be Adequate

Key Findings, Inspector's Opinions and Reasons for Judgements Made

From the documentation sampled and the areas inspected I found that Hunterston A’s (HNA) LC 13, LC 17, and LC36 arrangements and their implementation were adequate.

I also inspected LC32 compliance and from the information sampled and the areas inspected I judged that HNA’s arrangements and their implementation were adequate.

Conclusion of Intervention

The arrangements and their implementation were deemed to be adequate in the areas inspected.  No significant regulatory concerns were identified.
