Purpose of intervention

As part of a planned ONR visit to Hinkley Point C site the HPC Site Inspector took the opportunity inspect implementation of arrangements for compliance with LC7: Incidents on the site.

Key Findings, Inspector's Opinions and Reasons for Judgements Made

The Periodic Screening Meeting has demonstrated that it is competent to categorise and prioritise NNB GenCo’s response to an incident on the site.

A review of the Register of Investigations concluded that NNB GenCo’s implementation of its arrangements for LC7 is identifying and prioritising investigations that are securing valuable learning from construction related incidents.

NNB GenCo has conducted a competent and thorough Significant Abnormal Condition Investigation of the K11A Trapped Finger Incident.

Conclusion of Intervention

The HPC Site Inspector concludes that NNB GenCo’s arrangements for compliance with LC7: incidents on the site are adequate for the construction phase of the project. A sample inspection of NNB GenCo’s implementation of its arrangements concludes that it has satisfactorily demonstrated the notification, recording, investigation and reporting of incidents. The HPCSI judges the arrangements inspected under LC7 to be Green.
