Based on the discussions, explanations and the sample inspected on this occasion ONR was satisfied that there were no significant shortfalls identified with the implementation of the established arrangements for LC 7 incidents on the site. In particular, assigning a suitably qualified and experienced investigator, the reporting of events, the screening of events and the identification of issues.
For the Assembly Facility Exercising of Emergency Arrangements, the Assembly Facility Action Tracker and the proposed changes to the Aldermaston Site Emergency Plan. ONR was satisfied that there were no shortfalls and no need for any regulatory action at this point.
It is ONR's opinion, that from the sample inspected, the implementation of the established arrangements within the Assembly Facility with respect to Licence Condition 7 requires no formal regulatory action.
There are no other findings from this inspection that could significantly undermine nuclear safety.
The planned interventions set out in the Integrated Intervention Strategy for Burghfield site remain valid and will be followed for future inspections.
