This report covers interventions in pursuit of the ONR integrated intervention strategy for Chapelcross, in particular to address regulatory issues identified as part of Inspection plan and carry out the planned Compliance inspections

Explanation of Judgement if Safety System Not Judged to be Adequate

The structural integrity of the systems inspected was judged to be adequate in accordance with the requirements of the safety cases.  Queries were identified in relation to the compliance of systems against Licence Conditions 27 and 28.

Key Findings, Inspector's Opinions and Reasons for Judgements Made

Only the Compliance inspections and follow–up inspections are included in the executive summary as all other interventions are for information only.

Conclusion of Intervention

The system based inspection highlighted areas of good practice and shortfalls associated with compliance with the various licence conditions for the safety cases and facilities inspected.  A letter will be sent to site detailing the findings of the inspection and requesting site to address the shortfalls found.  Three level 4 regulatory issues will be raised to ensure the shortfalls are appropriately addressed.
