In response to your request for clarification. I was asking for assessments taking into account the projections made in UKCP18. I note that you have not yet received these assessments from the licensees. Do you know when you will receive them?

Thanks for the minutes you provided. I wondered if you could provide the following additional information under the Freedom of Information Act:

The slides used in the presentations given in Sections 3 and 4 of the PROGRESS MEETING 4: EXPERT PANEL ON NATURAL HAZARDS – Meteorological and Coastal Flood Hazards Sub-Panel on May 20, 2019.

Any written/printed outputs from the following research projects (I can't see them available on the website):

Item 1

I was asking for assessments taking into account the projections made in UKCP18. I note that you have not yet received these assessments from the licensees. Do you know when you will receive them?

Our response:

We are in discussion with licensees (and prospective licensees) to determine the appropriate programme of work which we intend to have in place by early 2020.

Please note that the high resolution data from UKCP18 was released in September
2019.

In our previous response we suggest contacting the licensees (and prospective licensees) of each site to request this information. The correct contact details for theses are as follows:

Please find attached the requested presentations in a slide deck folder. Some information has been redacted because it is personal data, so it has been withheld using exemption Section 40 of the FOIA. This is an absolute exemption so does not require a Public Interest Test.

Item 3

Any written/printed outputs from the following research projects (I can't see them available on the website): ONR-RRR-093: Investigation of methods to evaluate heat waves.

Our response:

I confirm that ONR holds the information specified in your request. However we are refusing your request under Section 22 - Information intended for future publication of the FOIA. As this is a qualified exemption, we have applied the Public Interest Test below:

Factors for release:

Issues related to the nuclear industry are subject to close scrutiny and debate, there is a public interest in information related to nuclear activities and the release of such information.

Factors for disclosure:

The release of this information in advance of publication could lead to confusion in the public sphere.

Conclusion:

We have concluded that it is not in the public interest to release this information at this stage, taking into account the fact that the information requested will be placed in the public domain within the next twelve months.

ONR will notify you when the investigation of methods to evaluate heat waves report is available in the public domain.
