Further to previous correspondence, to assist with our line of enquiries in respect of Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station, we request sight of any asbestos surveys at Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station. We are interested in whether asbestos insulation materials were used on the Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station premises.

I confirm that under Section 1 of the FOIA, that we do not hold the information related to your request.

We have conducted a search of our document systems. Following this search, we can confirm that ONR does not hold copies of any asbestos surveys in respect of Hartlepool Power Station. The Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974, and regulations created under it (including the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012), are goal setting in nature and place requirements on dutyholders (including licensees) to identify and manage risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Regulators do not routinely hold information that is generated by dutyholders to comply with this requirement, though regulators can assess that information when on site.
