Release of information under
Freedom of Information Act 2000

Information requested

Copies of Flood cell maps for 25 nuclear sites as listed in your letter.

Information released

I confirm that ONR may hold some information of the description specified in your request. However, to answer your request in full would, we consider, be too burdensome due to the cost and time required to process.  We are therefore refusing your request under section 12 of the FOIA. This is an absolute exemption so does not require a Public Interest Test. Please refer to the Information Commissioner’s Office website for full details.

Further information

It would be overly burdensome for us to check through all safety cases from a particular licensee to determine whether we hold this information for a particular site and check with licensees as to whether it is up to date.

The best source of the information that we do hold is the responses from licensees post Fukushima that we have published on our web site .

The best approach to obtaining this information would be via writing to the individual licensees themselves to request their most up to date flood cell maps.

In addition to this please note that following ONR’s webinar on External Hazards held on Thursday 23 May 2019 we intend to publish information from the event on our website. Once published I will send you hard copies of the information available.

Exemptions applied

Section 12

PIT (Public Interest Test) if applicable
