Questions to determine whether any conflict of interest occurred related to staff involved in GDA & DAC having pensions from other nuclear related companies
ONR staff involved in the GDA work were required to comply with the Civil Service Code of Conduct which required them to declare any interests to their manager and register them where applicable by completing a declaration which is recorded in the register of business interests. This is required of staff on initially joining ONR and is a standing requirement where circumstances may change. Any individuals who received a payment from companies or organisations involved in the GDA, in addition to the Office for Nuclear Regulation, would be expected to declare this interest in line with the Code.
ONR have separately provided information about individuals involved in the GDA who were in receipt of pensions (frozen or in payment) from organisations in the nuclear industry. (FOI request 201404003).
