PSR Contacts Report between ONR and DSRL on the UFCF Project

Information requested

The document as requested:

Information released

The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) holds the report.

Exemptions applied

Some information has been redacted because it is personal data, so has been withheld using the exception in Regulation 13 EIR. This is an absolute exception so does not require a public interest test.

Other information has been redacted because it relates to national security matters, so has been withheld using the exception in Regulation 12(5)(a) EIR. A public interest test is required as follows:

PIT (Public Interest Test) if applicable

Factors for disclosure

Issues relating to the nuclear industry are subject to close scrutiny and debate, so there is public interest in information relating to the organisational capability of licence holders.

Factors for withholding

Information relating to buildings on site, technical information, equipment, processes, and materials could prove useful to those with a malicious intent.

Reasons why public interest favours withholding information

The judgement is that the public would not expect ONR to release building numbers, technical information, equipment, processes and materials, if it could help in the commission of a malicious act.
