Request for reports that led to the improvement notice 1/2012/ONR/SJV/001 for Harwell

Information released

I can confirm that the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) holds some information of the description specified in your requests. However, we have already expended over 52 staff hours, including many hours spent by specialist, front line inspectors, answering ten EIR requests received from you over the last four months, and the time spent will increase as several requests are still ongoing.

Exemptions applied

Regulation 12(4)(b) - The request is manifestly unreasonable - too large to process.

PIT (Public Interest Test) if applicable

We consider that this latest request for information is manifestly unreasonable under Regulation 12(4)(b) of the Environmental Information Regulations, because the resource required to answer it, together with the time already spent, would require an unreasonable diversion of resources from the provision of the public services for which ONR is mandated. The requests you have sent to ONR have imposed a significant burden on the organisation and there is every indication that you will continue to make further requests for information that would add to that burden.
